Raffiq A. Nathoo, Executive-in-Residence, joined New Mountain in 2015. Mr. Nathoo has spent his career in the financial advisory and private equity investment businesses, including over 22 years at The Blackstone Group, where he served as a Senior Managing Director for 14 years. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Nathoo was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Merchant Banking groups of Salomon Brothers Inc.
Mr. Nathoo has advised CEOs, CFOs and Boards of Directors of leading companies on a variety of sensitive and complex transactions in the U.S. and abroad. Much of this work has centered on efforts to protect and build shareholder value, principally through mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other strategic transactions. Mr. Nathoo has worked across multiple industries, including the consumer products, healthcare, financial services and industrial sectors among others, and also led Blackstone’s advisory practice globally in the energy, power and utility sector.
Mr. Nathoo received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Visitors of Dartmouth College’s Dickey Center for International Understanding. He serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Community Trust, as a Trustee of the Nightingale - Bamford School, and as a Trustee of Northwell Health and member of the Executive Committee of Lenox Hill Hospital.
