Bjorn Hofman, Senior Advisor, joined New Mountain in 2020. Mr. Hofman has nearly three decades of global, general management experience in the specialty materials space serving a wide variety of end markets. During his career, he worked and lived for extensive periods in both Europe as well as the United States. Prior to joining New Mountain, Mr. Hofman served since 2014 as Chief Operating Officer of Avantor, which was listed on the NYSE in May 2019. Before Avantor, Mr. Hofman was a Senior Vice President of the Advanced Technologies business unit at Merck KGaA from 2013 to 2014. During his tenure at Celanese from 2009-2012, Mr. Hofman acted as Director of Corporate Development, Global Sales Director for the Advanced Engineered Materials (AEM) business and as Director Europe, Middle East and Africa for the AEM business. Prior to Celanese, Mr. Hofman spent 11 years at Honeywell and 6 years at DSM in a variety of operational and commercial leadership roles. Mr. Hofman earned a M.S. in chemical engineering from Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ascensus Specialties, ILC Dover, Vytalogy Wellness and Zep Inc.
