Andrew Cooper
Operating Partner

Andrew Cooper, Operating Partner, joined New Mountain in 2019.  Prior to New Mountain, Mr. Cooper served in various executive roles and was an Operating Partner at Pegasus Capital Advisors for 11 years.  Key executive roles included the President of Sequential Brands Group from 2016 to 2019; the CEO of Universal Lubricants (a Pegasus portfolio company) from 2013 to 2016, leading the transformation and successful exit through improved sales execution, strategic partnerships, and operational/supply chain re-engineering; and Senior Vice President of during the business-building phase from 1998 to 2005.  At Pegasus Capital from 2005 to 2016, Mr. Cooper partnered with management teams to lead the value creation activities and exit transactions for several portfolio companies across multiple sectors, including industrial, technology-enabled health care services, manufacturing/distribution, and consumer brands.  He spent the early part of his career in the health care sector, including operational and business development roles at Oxford Health Plans and Continental Health Affiliates.

Mr. Cooper received a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
